John J. De Angelo, 85, of the Brookfield section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy, NJ. John was born on November 28, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ. He had served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1954 to 1962. John had worked for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority as a maintenance technician before retiring. John was a parishioner of St. Rocco's R.C. Church, Martins Creek, PA and St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion Post 131, Belvidere, NJ. He was an avid bowler, bowling several perfect games. He was predeceased by a son, John. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Catherine Nelson De Angelo; a daughter, Dawn Neri and her husband Michael; three grandchildren, Nicole Neri, Jack De Angelo and Hannah De Angelo; two great-grandchildren, Codie Ann De Angelo and Jack De Angelo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Monday, January 27, 2020 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment will follow in the Forks Church Cemetery, Forks Township, PA. Friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2020 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.
