Obituary of Dawn M. Schnezler

Dawn Marie Schnezler, 59, of Belvidere, New Jersey, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on February 16, 2025. A devoted educator, Dawn dedicated her career to making a difference in the lives of her students as a special education teacher in the Belvidere School District. Her compassion and unwavering commitment to her students left a lasting mark on the community she loved and served for decades.

She was the daughter of the late William G. and Carol Ann (Krepela) Porphy and was raised in Budd Lake, New Jersey. Dawn was a proud graduate of Mount Olive High School and later earned her degree from Trenton State College. In 1990, she made Belvidere her home, where she built a life of love, purpose, and dedication to her family and community.

Dawn’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Schnezler; her four children, Eddie Schnezler, Dana Schnezler, Thomas Schnezler, and Robert Schnezler; her cherished grandchildren, Kaden Reid, Karson Reid, and a third grandson expected to arrive next month; and her dear brother, Jeff Porphy. She was predeceased by her treasured brother, Bill Porphy. Her warmth, strength, and endless love will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to honor Dawn’s memory at a viewing on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ 07823. A celebration of her life will be held the following day, Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Belvidere Manor.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Brian Duckworth Memorial Scholarship Fund, a cause close to Dawn's heart.
