Obituary of Anna Koller

Anna Koller, 89, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025. Anna was born in Hatzfeld, Romania, to Hans and Katharina Konrad on August 22, 1935.

After growing up in Romania and Germany, Anna and her husband immigrated to the United States in 1957, settling in a close-knit neighborhood in Elizabeth, NJ. In 1963, they moved their family to Plainfield, NJ.

After raising her children, Anna began working at the A&P, where she was a dedicated employee in the deli department until her retirement (She loved her cheese!). She remained deeply connected to her heritage as an active member of the Deutsche Club in Clark, NJ, and as a proud lifetime member of the Plainfield Rescue Squad Women’s Auxiliary.

Anna found great joy in traveling back to Germany to visit family, and she cherished summer vacations in Maine surrounded by her loved ones. She was known for her love of cooking and baking (Don’t ask for a recipe!) and being an avid reader. Anna loved traveling cross country and attending drag races, always looking forward to catching a John Force race. Nothing brought Anna more happiness than simply being surrounded by her family.

Anna is survived by her five children: Reinhard (Maggie), Gisela (Wayne), Theresa, Arno (Mary), and Roland (Denise); 10 grandchildren: Paul, Stacie, Tim, Christine, Dana, Amanda, Matt, Abby, Roland, and Gabrielle; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Suzanne, and many nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, Reinhard, her brother, Hans, and her sister, Katharina, son-in-law, Daniel, and grandson, Daniel.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick St., Belvidere, New Jersey. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025, 11:00 AM at MacFadden Funeral Home.
