Obituary of Mary S. Hricko
Mary Sophie Hricko, 84, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, at her home with her rosaries in her hand.
Mary, better known as Marie, was well known for her boundless love, generosity, and devotion to those around her. She was a steadfast and giving friend, a nurturing and devoted mother, and a deeply loving wife. Her kindness touched everyone she met, whether through her warm smile, gentle encouragement, or the quiet ways she cared for others. Family and faith were always at the center of her life, and she found great joy in supporting and celebrating those she loved.
Born on December 18, 1940, in Bayonne, NJ, Marie was the daughter of Francis and Genevieve Drobinski. She grew up in Bayonne as a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church and attended its affiliated grammar school. She graduated from Holy Family Academy High School in Bayonne.
Marie began her career as a secretary at the Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne and later worked at Middlesex County College and Digital Equipment Corporation, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues through her dedication and compassion. After raising her family, Marie achieved a personal milestone by earning her degree in Business from Middlesex County College—a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning and perseverance.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Karl J. Hricko; her loving children, Karl F. Hricko (Judy Vartelas), Michael Hricko, David Hricko (Liz Hricko), and Ann Marie Hoffman (Tom Hoffman); and her cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Spencer, Waverly, Charlton, Evan, and Mackenzie. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Drobinski.
Marie will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her gentle heart, selfless love, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Friday, November 7, 2025 at MacFadden Funeral Home, Belvidere, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2025 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Belvidere, NJ.
