Obituary of Mary L. Ott

  Mary Ott, aged 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24th 2025. Her loving family was by her side. 

      She was a daughter of the late Enrico and Leonilda (Perfetti) Mancini. She was predeceased by her brother Eugene and sister Angelina.  

     Mary was born November 13, 1928 in Vail, NJ. She spent her childhood in Vail and graduated from Blairstown High School in 1947. She was a resident of Belvidere for almost 60 years. 

     She married Donald Ott in 1960 and  they shared 43 wonderful years together before his passing in 2004. 

     She was employed  at North Jersey Knitting Mills in Belvidere during  the early 1960’s. She then stayed home to raise her two daughters . When her children were older, she decided to reenter the work force. She joined the cafeteria staff  at Belvidere High School where she worked for 20 years before retiring.   She greatly enjoyed her job especially the interaction with the students.  

     Mary was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Patrick’s in Belvidere for over 65 years.  

     In her spare time she  was a  voracious reader and enjoyed watching television. She was always cooking and loved filling her daughters’ freezers with the best homemade soup. 

     Family was everything to Mary and the center of her life.  She is survived by her daughters Deborah Johnson (David) and Susan Reeder (Brian “Jake”). She is also survived by her cherished grandsons Brett,  Mark (Tracy) and a brand new great grandson Emmett David .  

     Calling/Visitation will be Monday, November 3, 2025,  from 9:30 until 10:30 at MacFadden Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment will immediately follow at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Blairstown, NJ. 

     In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her honor to the Belvidere Ambulance Corps, 234 Paul St., Belvidere, NJ 07823.
