Condolences
My families' condolences.
My daughters always looked forward to saying hello to Lester every morning on their way into school. He was such a kind, gentle soul and will be missed.
It all started 3 years ago when my son started preschool. The warm smile of "the stop sign man" as Bradley would call him.. really made our morning. Bradley grew very fond of him and so each morning as we turned the corner heading to the drop off line the window was always rolled down and we said hello or chatted for a short time. We finally asked his name one day, since we always refered to him as the stop sign man. 3 years of his warm smile every day will be missed beyond measure. We adored him so much he was on our christmas gift list. I have a video from last year of Bradley giving him his christmas card. What a wonderful man. My heart goes out to his family and friends who lost such a wonderful person. He will always hold a special place in me and my son's hearts. Until we meet again. you will be missed by so many.
I saw him every morning.. standing proud on the corner, waving at children , smiling at cars and high-fiving toddlers in the strollers. All while efficiently directing traffic and keeping our children safe. It was his smile that prompted me to roll my window down and to say "thank you for all you do handsome"... he laughed and told me "awww thank you made my day!." for at least a good year he was "Handsome".. just an adorable cross guard who I was delighted to see and to play music for while yelling good morning handsome !!.. he brought so much happiness and I eventually asked him his name.. and yet I would still call him handsome... our exchanges were short and full of gratitude and love for this crossguard that proudly showed up everyday to make a difference in our community. He became a part of routine, our lives... to the point that every holiday he was part of my list of people to shop for.. There will be an empty space in my heart and in our community as we lost a very nice and handsome men that with little acts of kindness changed my drop off and pick up routine. I will miss you.. and thank you for everything Lester.
So sorry for this loss. Les was always a kind sweet person to me. My sincere condolences to the entire family. Joan will especially be in my prayers for this loss. Xxoo
