Obituary of James R. Crane
James R. Crane, 77, of Bangor, PA, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at St. Luke’s Anderson Campus, Easton, PA.
Born on September 5, 1948, in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late William F. Crane and Dorothy Hall Crane.
Jim was employed by the Express-Times in Hackettstown, NJ as a printer. Later Jim became the manager of the Belvidere American Legion Hall where he served for over 38 years.
He was a life member of the American Legion Post 131, Belvidere, NJ. A member of the Mansfield Lodge No. 36, F&AM; Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest # 14; dual membership with the Portland Lodge No. 311.
In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by a brother, William F. Crane III and a grandson Ike Garr.
Surviving are his wife, Constance B. Mensch Crane; a brother, Richard Crane of Belvidere, NJ; a niece, Robin Reese and her husband Geoff; a nephew, William Crane and his wife Kimberly; three step children, Curtis Gardner, Lori Garr, and Chad Gardner; six grandchildren, Emma, Dalton, Brittany, Dakota, Luke and Levi; four great-grandchildren; many great nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services including an American Legion Service and Masonic Service will be held 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Stone Church Reformed Cemetery, Stone Church, PA. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in Jim’s memory to American Legion Post 131, 122 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ 07823.
