Obituary of Donald M. Loock
Donald Martin Loock born in NJ in 1932 died on March 31, 2026, at the age of 94.
He lived a cowboy life riding horses and loved all things outdoors in Chatham and Green Village, NJ as a boy. Raised by his mother and grandparents, family and friends of a time gone by where life lessons were learned, including fishing and hunting.
He fell in love with his beautiful redhead, Barbara, they married young and tackled the world together hand and hand, they were married for 75 years. Purchasing a small 7-acre farm in Basking Ridge NJ, “Gods Little Acres” where they sold eggs and had a vegetable stand, the Country Wagon, providing many years of prideful service.
Don earned a living in construction and became a skilled and respected heavy equipment operator. He purchased 70 acres in Martins Creek Pa, where he and Barbara built their dream home, mountain views and everyday sunrises and sunsets. Soon he became a storyteller and mentor to his many friends and neighbors, which continued for almost 40 years.
He was a member, trustee and grounds keeper for the United Methodist Church in Belvidere NJ.
The joys and heartaches of life are too numerous to list but through it all he embraced it on his terms.
