Obituary of Dwayne R. Heininger
Dwayne Robert Heininger, a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend of many, 59, of Blairstown NJ, passed on July 29, 2026.
Dwayne was born October 10,1966 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington NJ to Grace and James Heininger.
There are some people that are just simply larger than life, and Dwayne was one of them. He was a big kid at heart, even as time aged him, his soul stayed forever young. If it was fast, loud or had an engine, he loved it. He was a truck driver his whole life and it was never just a job for him, he enjoyed being on the road and working with his best friend and little brother Jim. He loved the open road and the freedom that came with it.
He loved music, even if he couldn’t carry a tune. He loved to dance, even if none of us would ever call him graceful. But that's what made him so special, he was always himself and never cared what people thought. Like it or leave it. His terrible dancing and singing are one of the things we’ll miss the most.
He had the biggest heart. He was generous without expecting anything in return. He was the kind of person to give his shirt off his back to a complete stranger. He could turn any painful moment into a joke. He made people laugh and he turned strangers into friends. He was an incredible friend, a devoted father, and an Amazing Pop Pop. The world feels quieter without him. The engines don’t sound, quite as loud, the music doesn’t play quite the same anymore, and there's an empty space in all our hearts that no one else can fill. But I know if he was here, he would tell us not to spend so much time crying like a wuss. Turn the music up, laugh a little, and spend time together; you never know when the party is going to end. The road won’t ever be the same without you, but we will carry your love with us wherever we go.
Dwayne is survived by his two daughters Hailey Heininger and Jillian Freeman, granddaughter Amara Grays, former wife Brenda Hergula, siblings, James Heininger and wife Diane Heininger, Jamie Heininger Resenhoeft, and husband Michael Resenhoeft, nieces and nephews, Kelly Heininger, James Heininger, Kristal Stalker, Ryan Tettemer, Kaitlyn O’Rouke, Kyle O’Rouke, great nieces and nephews Summer Kiefer, Grayson Kiefer, Addisyn Kiefer, Cian O’Rouke and many more loved ones that he will be eternally missed by.
