Obituary of Alfred G. Giombetti

Please share a memory of Alfred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Alfred Giombetti, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 surrounded by his family at the age of 95. Born in Jessup, Pennsylvania, he was a resident of the area prior to moving to Dover, NJ and spent the last 23 years in Belvidere, NJ.  Alfred was a die-hard Penn State alumni and fan.

Alfred was married to his beloved wife, Rita Giombetti (Russin), for 75 remarkable years. Together, they created a legacy filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his wife Rita, his children Alfred "Fred" Giombetti and Carol Specht, his son-in-law, Ron Specht, and his sister Janet Carr.

Alfred's life was enriched by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Sarah, her husband Matt, and their four boys, Tyler, Brandon, Aidan and Conner. Affectionately known as “Pop” to his family, he was a constant source of wisdom, support, and joy to all who knew him.

An avid Penn State fan, Alfred's love for the Nittany Lions was infectious and brought the family together for countless game days and tailgates. His unwavering loyalty and passion will forever live on through the generations of family members who share his enthusiasm for his favorite team.

Alfred's life was a testament to the power of love and family, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His wit, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who carry on his legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Alfred's name to the Penn State Alumni Association or a charity of choice.

A celebration of Alfred's life, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share stories of a life well-lived will be at MacFadden Funeral Home on Friday, October 20, 2023. Calling hours are from 3 - 5 PM with a Christian Wake Service to follow at 5PM.
