Obituary of Mary Jean Barnes

Mary Jean Barnes, 89, of White Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township, NJ. Born on November 7, 1922 in Port Murray, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Allie Gardner Mayberry. Mrs. Barnes was a cafeteria worker for Hoffman-LaRoche, Belvidere, NJ for over fifteen years before retiring. Previously she had been a beautician. Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Mansfield Baptist Church and the Washington Boat and Ski Club. She had been an avid Mets fan. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Barnes was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence W. Barnes; a grandson, Shane; a brother, Neill Mayberry; a sister, Gloria Jullian. Surviving are a son, Lawrence W. Barnes, Jr. and his wife Sue of Belvidere, NJ; two daughters, Kay Baumgartner and her husband Joseph of Glen Gardner, NJ and Nancy B. Bysher and her husband Robert of Easton, PA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
