Michael F. Markle, 69, of Phillipsburg, NJ entered into eternal peace on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Born on December 24, 1947 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late David W. and Jessie M. Castner Markle. A 1967 graduate of Belvidere High School, Mike went on to serve as a MP in the U.S. Army, completing a tour in Vietnam and earning a Bronze Star for heroic achievements. Known as "Animal" by friends who loved him, Mike lived a full and active life. An accomplished water skier, boat racer, and artist, Mike took great joy in working on and riding his Harley-Davidson and rooting for the Pittsburg Steelers. In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by a sister, Alice Marie Markle and a brother, David E. Markle. Surviving are his daughters, Heather Piccioni and her husband Dale of Henrysville, PA, Jamie Markle and Malinda Markle-D'Amor both of Wisconsin; a sister, Linda Stocker and her companion Kevin Bergmann of Asbury, NJ; nieces and nephews, Sue and Albert Swisher, Robert and Gretchen Castner, and Wayne and Michelle Castner. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.
