Obituary of Lois B. Burnett

Lois B. Burnett, 93, of Lehighton, PA passed away peacefully on June 1, 2023 in her home. 

Born December 27,1929 in White Township NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward Dugan and Evelyn Abbott. 

Lois was formerly employed at the Hunterdon Developmental Center for 15 years.  She was a member of the American Legion.  She also enjoyed bowling, bingo, and the 500 club.  Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was a family picnic, out on the boat, or just sitting on her porch.    

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Burnett; siblings, John Dugan, James Dugan, Harold Abbott, Elise Deacon, and Emma Wilson.

Lois is survived by her beloved childern, Charles Steckel of Lehighton, John Steckel and his wife Donna of Belvidere, NJ, Harry Steckel and his wife Trudy of Belvidere, Evelyn Stine-Shelak of Cape Coral, FL, and Kathryn Read and her husband Randy of  Bangor, PA; siblings, Donald Dugan, Cathrine Hess, and Alice Rutt;  9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren,and 1 great-great-grandson.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at MacFadden Funeral Home, Belvidere, NJ. Interment will follow in Belvidere Cemetery.  Friends may call from 10:00 AM to the time of service.
