Obituary of Kathleen Camara

Kathleen Camara-Conroy passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband John R. Conroy.

Kathleen was a loving mother to her four children, Helen Christine Wiley, Jennifer Ann LaParch, Paul Christopher Camara and Jo Anna Jill Camara.

Answering to Grammie, Gramma and Grams, she was an adoring grandmother to five granddaughters, Lauren Nicole Merritts, Elizabeth Anna LaParch, Teresa Mae LaParch, Kathleen Clara LaParch and Dorothy Suzanna LaParch and to two grandsons, Jack Camara Mandracchia and Mason Camara Mandracchia.

For over 30 years, “Kathy” was a caring nurse at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. In 1981 she joined the hospital's Family Practice & Residency program. There she was well respected by both patients and staff forming lifelong friendships.

Kathy will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as an excellent driver that was always up for a road trip, “going out to breakfast” could often include crossing a state line. She enjoyed making memories at her favorite vacation spots including Dorset, Vermont and Walt Disney World Florida. But, driving down the shore, to her Manasquan cottage, was her favorite destination.

Kathy loved celebrating the holidays and will be especially remembered for her contagious Christmas spirit! We will never be able to watch a Christmas movie, wrap a present, make sugared pecans, roast a turkey with giblet stuffing, pick out a Christmas tree, hang a hallmark ornament or enjoy the after Christmas sales without thinking of her.

Although our Kathy, Mom, Gramma will be sorely missed, she will forever be in our hearts and happy memories.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, July 18, 2024 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ.  Interment will be private at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ.

Contributions may be made in Kathleen's memory to Atlantic Visiting Nurse or the charity of one's choice.
