Obituary of Joseph E. Haschak

It is with sadness that the family of Joseph E. “Joe” Haschak announces his passing, ending his very long battle, on Sunday October 27, 2024, in the loving arms of his wife and children at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House.

Joe is the son of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Zipay) Haschak.  Born January 30, 1947, in Phillipsburg NJ.  He grew up in Brainards NJ.  “A true Brainards Boy”.

After graduating from Belvidere High School in 1965, he enlisted in the US Air Force to serve his country in the Vietnam War. 

After his Honorable Discharge, he brought his knowledge he retained from the Air Force and became an IT Technician for many companies through the years, including the most memorable, West Jersey Telephone Co and Hoffman LaRoche both of Belvidere NJ.

Joe was very active in his communities, coaching his kids and the kids of the communities of many sports.  He also gave his time to volunteer as a lifetime member of the Belvidere American Legion, Post 131 where he served as a post commander.  He also was active in the Jaycee’s and a past president, and served as a fire police in Sandt’s Eddy Fire Co, Lower Mt. Bethel Pa. 

He is survived by his devoted and caring wife Mary (Morgan) Haschak of 54 years, celebrating their Anniversary October 17, 2024.

He is also survived by his loving children, two sons, Joe Haschak (Cathy), Jamie Haschak (Donna), and a daughter, Marijo March (Joshua).  Pop-Pop was blessed with five grandchildren, three grandsons, Devon (Kaylee), Justin, and Tanner, two granddaughters, Sara, and Aubrey whom loved him very much and helped take care of him.

Great Pop-Pop was very blessed with the arrival of his great grandson, Finely Morgan Haschak, whom became “the little thief” of his favorite crackers.

Also, survived by a sister, many sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and one great-great niece.

Services were private at the request of the family, entrusted by the Mac Fadden Funeral Home.

Friends and Family are invited to share happy memories with his family, the way he wished to be remembered for his outgoing personality and a loving and caring man who enjoyed being with his family, on November 9, 2024, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, Rt 519, Harmony NJ from 12-3pm for light refreshments.
