Obituary of Lisa Kay Spangler

Lisa Kay Spangler, 48, of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, February 7, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, PA. Born on May 20, 1963 in Rebersburg, PA, she was the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Corman) Spangler, Sr. of Rebersburg, PA. She was a 1981 graduate of Penns Valley High School. Lisa had been a dairy farmer most of her life. She was the first women in the State of New Jersey to be honored with the Dairy of Distinction Award. Lisa had also been an avid animal lover. In addition to her parents, surviving are her husband of 25 years, Thomas E. Smith, White Twp., NJ; two step-sons, Thomas Smith, U.S. Navy, California and Tyler Smith, Hoboken, NJ; four siblings, Robert Spangler, Jr. and his wife Linda, Centre Hall, PA, E. Richard Spangler, Rebersburg, PA, Amy Homan and her husband Allen, Spring Mills, PA, and Michael Spangler, Morrisdale, PA; six nieces and nephews, Staci Spangler and Karl Schwiderske, Morrisdale, PA, Erik Spangler, Centre Hall, PA, Haley Spangler, Howard, PA, Matthew Spangler, Centre Hall, PA, Peyton Homan and Lucas Homan both of Spring Mills, PA; two great-nieces and one great-nephew; Wyatt Schwiderske and Grace Schwiderske both of Morrisdale, PA and Abigail Spangler of Manheim, PA; mother-in-law, Betty Smith, White Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in her memory to Children's Hospital at Geisinger, C/O Janet Weis, 100 N. Academy Avenue, Danville, PA 17822.
