Condolences
I already wrote a post, however, I realize that I wanted to say again to the family, thank you so much for asking that I visit Joan at the river before she passed away and we got to reminisce and laugh. Her last words to me were "say hi to handsome Don" who is my husband. We talked many times after she retired, she visited me in my new home, invited us to the river and thanked me many times for being her secretary and friend. She was a very special lady and I am so sorry for your loss. It was an amazing service honoring Joan!

Todd
My deepest sympathy to you, Todd, to your sisters, Debbie
and Bonnie and your brother Jimmy for the loss of your Mother.
I was devastated when I got your message telling me that my dear friend, Joan, was receiving Hospice care. I did not know how much time she had left so I wrote her a letter reminiscing about the twenty-one years we had been together every day at Visiting Homemakers. I was so happy that your daughter was able to read it to her the day before she passed, and that she heard my words of gratitude for her friendship and deep respect for the fantastic job she did as Executive Administrative Director of Visiting Homemakers. She inherited a small agency and was responsible for its tremendous growth. She urged the Board to offer to two of our nurses the funds to allow them to continue their education and obtain a Bachelor’s degree in addition to their RN degree. She was committed to the well-being of her staff and the aides and she was well loved. Her creativity, humor, enthusiasm and generosity were just a few of her qualities that were part of the great woman she was. She will be in my heart forever.
I offer my condolences to all of Joan's family and friends. She was my boss for many years, however, it is her friendship that meant so much. She was a great lady!
