Obituary of Jean M. Tshudy

Jean M. Tshudy, 80, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, PA. Born on May 25, 1931 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Pearl Pepper Boquist. Mrs. Tshudy had previously lived in Stroudsburg, PA and had wintered in Davenport, FL. Mrs. Tshudy had retired in 1993 as a teacher for Head Start, Monroe County, PA. She previously was an administrative assistant to the Dean of Students at Centenary College, Hackettstown, NJ and a dental receptionist for Dr. Hertz, Tannersville, PA. She had also served as a substitute teacher in the Belvidere area school systems. Mrs. Tshudy was a member of the Bethlehem Garden Club. She served as a board of director for Pocono Area Transient Housing. Most importantly she was a volunteer carrousel operator at Give Kids the World Village, Kissimmee, FL. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Donald L. Tshudy; three sons, Dean and his wife Marilou of Belvidere, NJ, Dale and his wife Gail of Bethlehem, PA, and Dwight and his wife Akiko of Salem, MA; a sister, Joyce Mills and her husband Rod of Orange City, FL; two granddaughters, Jenna and Joelle. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in her memory to Give Kids the World, 210 South Bass Road, Kissimmee, FL 34746, the American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
