Obituary of Chauncey G. Naylor

Chauncey G. Naylor, II, 86, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township, PA. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ on February 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Chauncey G. and Jennie Crossen Naylor. Mr. Naylor was a line operator for M&M Corporation, Hackettstown, NJ before retiring. Previously he had work for Hoffmann-LaRoche. Mr. Naylor had been the Court Crier and Sergeant-at-Arms for the Warren County Courts. He had managed the former Belvidere Movie Theater. He had served on the Belvidere Town Council. Mr. Naylor had been a lifelong avid Yankee fan. Mr Naylor served in the US Navy during WWII. Chauncey had been a member of the Masonic Lodge #13 F.& A.M, Belvidere, NJ, a life member of the American Legion, Post 131, Belvidere, a 25 year member of the Belvidere Ambulance Corps. In addition to his parents, Mr. Naylor was predeceased by his wife Virginia Knight Naylor, who died November 6, 2010, a son William and his sister, Frances Schmeltzley. Surviving are a daughter, Lori-Anne Walz of Cresco, PA; a son, Chauncey G., Naylor, III of Mauriceville, TX; six grandchildren; one great-grandson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Belvidere Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 128, Belvidere, NJ.
