Obituary of John C. O'Brien

John C. O�(TM)Brien, 87, of the Brookfield Section of White Township, NJ, formerly of Clinton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 8, 2006 at the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township, NJ. Born on June 2, 1918 in Dalton, MA, he was the son of the late John J. and Clementine Laramie O�(TM)Brien. Mr. O�(TM)Brien had served in the U.S. Army during WWII in both the European and Pacific Theater Campaigns with the 1479th Engineer Maintenance Company. Mr. O�(TM)Brien had retired in 1991 from Shaw Industries, Stroudsburg, PA as the Vice President of Engineering. While working for Shaw Industries, in 1968, Mr. O�(TM)Brien was awarded four U.S. Patents including one for the design and implementation of the synthetic cork. Mr. O�(TM)Brien was predeceased in death by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy and two grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Marian Shannon O�(TM)Brien; four children, John C. O�(TM)Brien of DeQueen, AR, Constance O�(TM)Brien of Plymouth, MA, Richard O�(TM)Brien of Marshfield, MA, and Dorothy Howell of Suwanee, GA; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
