Ruth C. Stem, 88, of West Milford, NJ, formerly of Belvidere, NJ and Cocoa, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2006 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains, NJ. Mrs. Stem had been a cafeteria worker at the Belvidere High School and the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center, Mansfield Township, NJ, for many years before retiring. Born on June 28, 1918 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Josie Sanders Bartow. Mrs. Stem participated in many activities at the West Milford Seniors Center. She was a former member of St. Mary�(TM)s Episcopal Church, Belvidere, NJ. She was predeceased in death by her husband John Stem, who died August 31, 1976. Surviving are a daughter, Natalie Provenzale, the former Warren County Welfare Director, and her husband Michael of West Milford and two grandsons, Kyle and Jonathan Hanzas. A sister, Grace Pfaff had died earlier. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Belvidere Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 128, Belvidere, NJ 07823.
