Richard Walter Miller, 84, of White Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Care Center of Lopatcong, Lopatcong Township, NJ. Mr. Miller had retired from the US Army after serving over 20 years as a heavy vehicle driver. He had served during three war eras. During WWII he served in the US Navy, then enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He had received numerous medals, badges and commendations including the Purple Heart. Mr. Miller also was a sharpshooter. Mr. Miller was born on May 5, 1922 in Easton, PA. Mr. Miller was Presbyterian in faith. Surviving are a foster brother, Fred Miller of Belvidere, NJ; his caregiver and dear friend, Rose Keiper and her son Scott of Washington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in his memory to the Oxford Emergency Squad, 76 Academy Street, Oxford, NJ 07863.
