Obituary of Michael J. Hyder

Michael J. Hyder, 87, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Compassionate Care Hospice, St. Clares Hospital, Dover, NJ. Mr. Hyder was born on September 29, 1919 in Greenwich, CT. Mr. Hyder and his wife Genevieve M. Skotzke were married on April 29, 1950. He retired from NY Bell Telephone Company after 43 years of service. Mr. Hyder had also worked on the Early Warning System in Alaska. He served in the Army during WWII in the ETO and was awarded five bronze stars. Mr. Hyder was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. Surviving in addition to his wife of 56 years are two sons, John Hyder and his wife Barbara of Columbia, NJ and Michael Hyder and his wife Sandy of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; two daughters, Dianne Kukawski and her companion Bob Alexander of New Baltimore, MI and Mary Prisco and her husband Anthony of Blairstown, NJ; a brother, Walter Hyder and his wife Lillian of Michigan; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
