Obituary of Donald A. Wrege

Donald A. Wrege, 79, of White Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday December 8, 2006 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. Mr. Wrege had worked in the supply department for New York Life Insurance Company, Lebanon, NJ before retiring. Previously he had been the owner and operator of Don�(TM)s Elmora Club, a tavern located in Elizabeth, NJ. He had also worked for Standard Oil Company, Bayway, NJ. Born on January 31, 1927 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Arthur and Susan Jacobs Wrege. Mr. Wrege had lived in the Union County area for many years. He had served in the Army during WWII. Mr. Wrege was a hunter and an avid sports fan, especially the Giants and Mets. In his younger years at Roselle High School, he was a standout baseball pitcher who was scouted for the minor leagues, until he received a precluding injury. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Pamela E. Burns Wrege; three sons, Donald W. and his wife Janice of Roselle Park, NJ, Gary of New York City, NY, and Sean and his wife Stephanie of Bath, PA; five grandchildren, Tina, Vincent, Craig, Caitlin and Matthew. Mr. Wrege was predeceased by a son, Scott and a brother, Richard.
