David J. Govan, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, 75, of Hackettstown, NJ, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Easton Hospital, after forty-nine days. Born on June 16, 1931 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late David J. and Viola Hartly Govan. He and his wife, the former Carmen Tersigni Lynch, were married for 49 years on Christmas Day. David was a 1950 graduate of Easton High School. He had lived in Easton until 1957. He worked for Fred Will Industries. He was a co-owner of Luigi�(TM)s Ranch-O, Rt. 46, Belvidere, NJ along with his wife Carmen and late mother-in-law Virginia E. Tersigni from 1968 to 1990. He resided in Hackettstown for the past seven years. David was a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge No. 45, Easton, PA. He was an avid sports fan and had enjoyed playing golf with his many friends. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Louis B. Lynch and his wife Linda of Pocono Estates, Bushkill, PA and David John Govan III and his wife Laura of Bedminster, NJ; a brother, John Govan; a sister, Catherine Matyger both of Palmer Twp.; six grandchildren, Chase and Brandi Lynch, J.P., James, Luke and Charles Govan; sister-in-law, Lois Anne Bonar of Hackettstown, NJ; many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Mitchell and Rose Ann Govan.
