Fredrick “Teed” Staples, 89, of Upper Mt. Bethel, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County. “Teed” was a stationary engineer at the former Celanese Corporation, Belvidere, NJ for over 38 years before retiring. Born in Belvidere, NJ on March 23, 1918, he was the son of the late Fred H. and Alma Scholtz Staples. Mr. Staples had served in the Navy during WWII and was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign ribbons and medals for Atlantic and Pacific Theater. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 131, Belvidere, NJ. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth nee Healey Staples; two sons, Jack and his wife Karen, and James; three grandsons, Zackary Sean, James Vincent, and John Clayton; a sister, Helen Osmun. In lieu of flowers, contributions are to be made in his memory to the American Legion, Post 131, 122 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ 07823.
