Dorothy M. Kauffman, 91, "Respected and Beloved Mother" of Belvidere, NJ, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Forest Manor Health Care Center, Frelinghuysen Township, NJ. Born on April 17, 1917 in Belvidere, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Ethel Hooey McLain. A lifelong resident of Belvidere, Mrs. Kauffman was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere. Mrs. Kauffman was employed as a nurse for Dr. Stanton Sykes for many years before retiring and was a Warren Hospital Volunteer. She was married to the late Kenneth R. Kauffman who died on January 19, 1972. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth E. Kauffman and his wife Betty of Belvidere, Jerry W. Kauffman of Mt. Bethel, PA; a daughter, Sharon Brynildsen and her husband Harold of Holland Township, NJ; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions are to be made in her memory to the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere, 224 Mansfield Street, Belvidere, NJ 07823.
