Evelyn A. Semmel, 88, a resident of Warren Haven Nursing Home, Mansfield Township, NJ formerly of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully at the nursing home, where she was cared for with compassion and kindness, on Sunday, November 9, 2008. Born on October 30, 1920 in Albrightsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Mamie Henning Kibler. Mrs. Sememel was a visiting homemaker for Warren County Visiting Homemakers before retiring. A member of the Belvidere United Methodist Church since 1954, she also was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was the wife of the late Clayton B. Semmel who died in 1974. Surviving are a son, Lamar of Canadensis, PA; a daughter, Margaret Stampone of Columbia, NJ; two sisters, Lucy Seltzer and Bertha Kibler both of Lehighton, PA; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son, Clayton, a granddaughter, Mariellen Stampone, three brothers and four sisters had died earlier.
