Obituary of Marjorie Petersen Kitchen

Marjorie Petersen Kitchen passed away at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia on February 28th, after a lengthy illness. Marjorie was born in Oxford, N.J. to the late Ethan and Minnie (Burd) Petersen. She was raised in Belvidere and was a 1945 graduate of Belvidere High school. Marjorie was the wife of the late Roger L. Kitchen, to whom she was married to for 52 years prior to his passing in 1999. They lived and raised their family in Columbia before moving to Stroud Township in 1981. She was employed by the former West Jersey Telephone Co. in Belvidere for 14 years until she retired in 1970. Marjorie was a member of the Stroud Community Club, and a member of the Red Hat Society of Monroe County where she made many friends. Survivors include her son, Jan Kitchen of Stroudsburg Pa, daughter Cynthia Guarriello and her husband Mario of Belvidere NJ; her brother Ethan "Red" Petersen and his wife Irma of Bethlehem, Pa. She was proud to have three grandchildren, Roger Kitchen, of Stroudsburg, Janean Fey and her husband Michael, of Bangor, Pa. and Megan Denker of Easton, Pa. She was delighted to have three great-grandchildren, Danielle, Tyler and Jenna Fey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins, all of whom she cared for deeply.
