George E. Setzer, 81 of Belvidere, NJ, passed away on Monday March 16, 2009 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. George was an electrical contractor, owning the George E. Setzer Electrical Company, Belvidere, NJ for over 45 years before retiring. Born on July 29, 1927 in Bethlehem, PA, he was the son of the late Paul Setzer and Hannah Seguine Setzer Cressman and stepson of the late Kenneth Cressman. George proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 131 and the V.F.W. Post 5193 both of Belvidere. George was a life member and elder of the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere. He was a former long time member of the Belvidere Rotary Club and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. George enjoyed hunting and was a member of the NRA. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Shirley L. Patterson Setzer; a daughter, Kimberly Robertson and her husband Timothy; a sister, Mary L. Donst; several nephews and nieces.
