Obituary of George Linwood Moore

George Linwood Moore, 88, a resident of Warren Haven Nursing Home, Mansfield Township, NJ, formerly of South Plainfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Warren Haven. Born on August 11, 1920 in Bridgeton, NJ, he was the son of the late Clifford R. and Susan Mae Behney Moore. Mr. Moore was a research chemist for Airco, Murray Hill, NJ for over 21 years, in which time he published many patents. Later he had worked for Air Products, Piscataway, NJ before retiring in 1977. Mr. Moore received his B.S. in Chemistry from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA and later his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Delaware. Mr. Moore had served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the 751st Chemical Depot Company of the 15th Air Force. Mr. Moore was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church, Plainfield, NJ. He enjoyed time with his family especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Jane T. Landis Moore to whom he married on January 12, 1946; two daughters, Linda J. Krychowecky and Christine A. Howard; a son, Alan C. Moore; a brother, Albert Moore; four grandchildren, Janet S. Wheeler, Kathleen A. Brooke, Jennifer L. and Michael A. Krychowecky; two great-grandsons, Matthew R. and Eric P.
