Obituary of Shirley A. Kays

Shirley A. Kays, 78, a lifelong resident of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 27, 2009 with her loving family at her side. Born on October 10, 1930 in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Doris Smith Ackerman. Mrs. Kays had lived in Belvidere all her life. Mrs. Kays was a 1948 graduate of Belvidere High School. She was a court clerk at the Warren County District Court, Belvidere, NJ for over 23 years before retiring in 1994. Mrs. Kays was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere. She was also an active member with the Good Will Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Belvidere, NJ. Mrs. Kays was predeceased by her husband, E. Ralph Kays, who died September 29, 1998; two sisters, Marjorie Jean Ackerman and Virginia Ruch. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Kays and his wife Kathleen of Belvidere, NJ and Terry Kays of Delaware Water Gap, PA; two grandsons, Michael and his wife Courtney and Kyle Kays; a brother, Harry Ackerman, Jr.; a sister, Sandra Ulmer.
