Obituary of Barbara Johnson

Barbara "Bobbie" Johnson died on Saturday January 9, 2010 at Easton Hospital after a short illness. She was 82. Born in Boston Massachusetts to the late Leon and Priscilla (Allen) Hutchins on June 6, 1927, she graduated in 1945 from Reading High School in Reading Mass., and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Vermont in 1949. Mrs. Johnson was a Homemaker. She moved to Belvidere in 1956. She served the local community in numerous volunteer positions. She was a volunteer on the Warren Hospital Board of Trustees for 29 years, the Warren Hospital Foundation Board for 20 years, and served for 28 years accumulating over 8, 000 hours with the Wishing Well Gift Shop and the hospital medical library. She was a member of the Belvidere and Warren Hospital Auxiliary. Additionally, she served on the Belvidere Board of Education for over 9 years and served two terms as board president. She was predeceased by her son Grant in 2000. Survivors include two sons, Erik Johnson and his significant other Debra Vasko of Belvidere, Gustav Johnson and his wife Christy of Johnsonburg, her sister Constance Dubie of Vermont., three grandsons, Brandon, Alexander, and Kristian Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.
