Obituary of Harry B. Schnieber

Harry B. Schnieber, 96, of Belvidere passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2010 at home with family by his side. Born: January 20, 1914 in Belleville, NJ. He was the son of the late Adolphus J. and Frances McMullen Schnieber. Personal: He was the husband of the late Margaret Schnieber who died February 3, 2006. He was a dedicated teacher and retired in 1978 from Belvidere High School after 42 years of teaching. He won numerous local and national awards for his dedication as a teacher and promoter of agricultural education. He received his BS and Masters of Education Degrees from Rutgers University. He was also an avid train enthusiast and traveled the rails throughout the U.S. with his family. Memberships: He was active in many educational and community organizations. He served on the White Township Board of Education for many years and was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Belvidere. Survivors: He is survived by three daughters, Sandra L. Schnieber of Pine, AZ, Elizabeth A. Libby and her companion, John O'Neill of Oxford, NJ, Joan L. Schnieber and her husband, Robert Thompson of White Township, NJ; a son, Laurence P. Schnieber and his wife, Debra of Smyrna, NC; two granddaughters, Melissa B. Libby, Laura K. Hazleton and her husband William; one great granddaughter, Melanie.
