Eleanor B. Groel, 81, of the Country View section of White Township, NJ, formerly of Union, NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Virtua-Memorial Hospital of Burlington, Mount Holly, NJ. Born on June 12, 1928 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late August and Louise Schulz Klingel. Mrs. Groel was a secretary in the Special Services Department of the Union Board of Education, Union, NJ before retiring in 1991. Mrs. Groel was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lincoln Chapter no. 95 and the Caldwell Chapter no. 61, both in Caldwell, NJ. She served as Past Matron of the Sharon Chapter no. 249, Union, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Robert H. Groel, Sr., who died on February 2, 2010. Surviving are four children, Thomas of El Cajon, CA, Richard of Succasunna, NJ, Patricia DeVincentz of Flemington, NJ and Robert Jr. of Middlesex, NJ; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Contributions are requested to be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
