Alan William Davidson , 69, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Hazelton General Hospital, Hazelton, PA. Born on July 18, 1941 in East Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late George and Marion Kinkel Davidson. He was raised in Bloomfield and had lived in Dumont, NJ and Buck Hill Falls, PA before moving to Belvidere. Mr. Davidson was a retired Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending in the banking industry. He had worked for the past several years in the Monroe County Public Assistance Office of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mr. Davidson had received his MBA from Rutgers University Business School. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era achieving the rank of Captain. He received the Bronze Star for his valiant service to his country. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Patricia Black Davidson; a son, Eric Meerdink and his wife Susan; a grandson, Brendan Meerdink; a sister-in-law, Kelly Davidson; several nephews and nieces. A brother, Robert Davidson had died earlier. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in his memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fish Hill Road, Tannersville, PA 18372.
