Obituary of Edmund A. Larney

Edmund A. Larney, 86, of Hope Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at his home with his loving family at his side. Born in Hillside, NJ on May 24, 1924, he was the son of the late George B. and Margaret Cunningham Larney. Mr. Larney had been a self employed live stock hauler and dealer in most of the northeast region. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. He was a charter member of the Hope Fire Department, formerly served as Mayor of Hope Township, a member of the Live Stock Co-op of Hackettstown, NJ Farmers Bureau, Hope Moravian Grange #187 and he was a former 4H Leader. Mr. Larney enjoyed hunting, boating, farming and especially his horses and dogs. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Carmela "Millie" Cerbone Larney ; three brothers, George W., Harold, and Francis Larney; two sisters, Marguerite Lynch and Elenora Dorner. Surviving are five children, Maryann McGrath, Michael Larney and his wife Peggy, Elenora Larney, Angela Moyer and her husband Michael, and Pamela McIntosh and her husband Patrick; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
