Condolences
An old friend from Seattle checking in. It's been a while since Sal passed. Was a shock when he called shortly before his death. He became one of my closest friends, having met him through a mutual friend Gary Kilbourne who worked with Sal at the Boeing Co. It happened that he and Gary were planning on attending college in Bellingham, now known as Western Washington University. A childhood friend of mine, Jim Horton and I also planned to attend that Fall of 1959. We eventually roomed at the same rooming house. We lasted at Western only one year, Sal came back to Seattle and lived in a small apt. above the local Grocery Store in Seahurst, WA. He then returned. Sal got Grace to come to Seattle to get married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church across the street from our private neighborhood in Burien, WA. We've now lived here for 50 years. I worked at Boeing the year following our Bellingham adventure. I then went to Seattle University and graduated in 1965; met my wife of 57 years and married in 1966. We eventually had 3 children and we flew back to stay with Sal and Grace for a week or so. A couple of years later they came out to Seattle and stayed with us. We had a great time. I think Pam and I went back a second time to see them. We still miss them both; don't know if Gracie is still with us, hope she is well, along with their terrific kids; Philip, Lisa and Christine.

Grace, Philip, Elisa and Cristina,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all in your time of grief. I will always remember our family barbeques at your home and playing in that big back yard when we were kids. It's been many years since we have seen each other, buy family never fades. I am so sorry that I could not be there at the service. God be with you all.

Sal was a superb actor. I can still remember the many parts he played at Country Gate Players. He always stayed in character. He will be sadley missed.

Deepest condolences to Grace and family for your loss of Sal! What a wonderful person and neighbor he was. He will missed greatly by all who knew him.
I met Sal at Country Gate in 1987. He was the director of "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum", and I played Philia. There have been many shows and fond memories since then. Sal was a gifted thespian and a wonderful person. Rest in peace dear friend.
I ran into Sal at last Country Gate show I went to see and it was great to catch up with him. Though I was in many shows with him my fondest memories will always be doing "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid" with Charlie, Bill, Sal and myself as well as Sal going to get his rum in "1776". I'll miss him but remember fondly his humor and his commitment.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Dear Cousins,
I will always have fond memories of "MY" cousin Sal. I still have memories of when he took Camille, Frannie and me to the zoo. I was so excited I was going to go somewhere with my handsome cousin.
I pray that God will give you the strength to get through this. May the Lord keep and bless you all.
With sincerest regrets,
Cousin Phyllis
I was in a musical review with him at country Gate. From then on, whenever I watch "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", I always picture him singing "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid". He was the kind of guy that just made you want to smile. R.I.P.
My sincerest condolences to Sal's family. I've not met him personally but have heard wonderful things about him.
Grace, Phil, Lisa and Cristina,
I love you all. My heart aches with you. Although I didn't get to see Sal much lately, I remember the times I had with him over the last 50 years and I cherish those moments. From when I was a little kid in Seattle, when he and my father used to hang out. To all the times we had together at the old house and as far back as the apartment in Parsippany. I will always remember his funny stories, his humor and his great acting. I couldn't have had a better Uncle. His soul is with the Lord, but his spirit will live with me in the wonderful memories I will always have of him. God bless you all. May He give you strength, both physical and mental, to get through this tragedy. I know Sal is in Heaven, looking down on us and laughing with some old friends over a funny story.
Love,
Peter
I met Sal less than a year ago but am very happy that I got to know this wonderful warm, funny and very kind man.
I started working at DPV in October but I am happy I was priviledged to know Sal even for a short time. He was a happy-go-lucky, fun person and I enjoyed his stories. I will miss you, Sal
Dear Grace,
Bob and I were just in a production of OKLAHOMA! here in our community two weeks ago. I took my Country Gate cast picture from 1984 to all of our rehearsals and performances, and smiled at Sal kissing Jennifer Shafer's hand....as a matter of fact, I will always smile when I think of Sal.......he was a great guy! God Bless you and your family.
Cristina,
I am so sorry to hear of the tragic news of your father's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My heart goes out to you as you deal with his sudden loss and cope in the times ahead. May God hold him in the palm of His hand. May he rest in peace.
