Obituary of Eleanor Irene Barrick

Eleanor "Irene" Barrick, 88, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coopersburg, PA. Born in Pittstown, NJ on November 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John Hahola and Elizabeth Jacob Hahola. Irene was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, celebrating their 50th Anniversary on August 29, 1998, Albert J. Barrick, who died on August 4, 2000; sisters, Margaret Gunther and Olga Hahola; brothers, John, Frank, Stephen, Elmer, Edward and Carl Hahola. Irene graduated from Frenchtown High School in 1946. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Irene enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, crocheting, and camping with her husband. She loved raising her own children and taking care of many others as "Mama Barrick". Her greatest joy above all was her family. Surviving are her four children, Ernest C. Barrick of Lansdale, PA, Daniel A. and his wife Anita (Seaman) of Phillipsburg, NJ, James A. and his wife Amy (Miller) of Easton, PA, Elizabeth J. North and her husband William of Downingtown, PA; five grandchildren, Ryan and Katie Barrick and Shannon, Kelsey, and Kyle North; two sisters, Rose Pendergrass of Durham, NC and Goldie Scheier of Hampton, NJ; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment will follow in the Belvidere Cemetery, Belvidere, NJ. Friends may call from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick St., Belvidere, NJ.
