Charles Lindbergh Steckel, 88, of White Township, NJ, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at his home. Born on June 11, 1928 in Mt. Bethel, PA, Chuck had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Charles was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion Post 131, Belvidere; Mansfield Lodge # 36 F&AM, Washington; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Warren County Forest #14. Chuck was a Supervisor for Hoffmann-LaRoche for many years before retiring. Charles was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Helen M. Novak Steckel, who died on December 15, 2014. Surviving are his children, Charles Steckel, Jr., John Steckel, Harry Steckel, Evelyn Stine-Shelak, Kathy Read, John Kowchak and Patty Kowchak; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 28, 2016 at St. Patrick Cemetery, Belvidere, NJ under the direction of MacFadden Funeral Home, Belvidere, NJ.
