Obituary of Richard Gordon Vincent

Richard Gordon Vincent, October 19, 1924 to December 29, 2016. When the Lord calls us home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Memories are the legacy of love. With hope in tomorrow; with faith in the everlasting; and with comfort in the love of family and friends; we announce that Richard (Dick) Gordon Vincent, beloved husband of F. Lorraine Vincent (nee Loughrey), was called to the arms of Jesus on December 29, 2016. Dick was born in Wilmington, DE to Francis and Clara Mae (Swavely) Vincent and graduated from the University of Delaware in June of 1948. There he earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and went on to work at Ingersoll-Rand Company, Phillipsburg, NJ,(25 years) Fuller Company, Catasaqua, PA (10 years) and Perkiomen School, Pennsburg, PA(4 years) before retiring to Mt. Bethel, PA. A veteran of World War II, Dick served in the 100th Division of the US Army in France and Germany. A lifelong member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and was a current member of Calvary Community Church, Harmony, NJ, Dick, served in many leadership roles, most recently as Elder Emeritus. Throughout his life, Dick enjoyed music, model trains, time spent with family, and traveling the world with his wife. He leaves behind his wife, Lorraine, of almost 70 years; a sister, Dorothy Wilson of Bear, DE; six children, Lorinda Lee Macaulay(Ron), Robert Francis(Melissa), Richard Stephen(Shannon), Kenneth Gordon(Kerri), Judith Andrea deBoer(Peter), and Christina Marie Ruoss(James); 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday, January 2, 2017 with funeral services to immediately follow at Calvary Community Church, 4 Old Church Road, Harmony, NJ. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Harmony, NJ.
