Obituary of Michael A. Moretti

Michael A. Moretti, 95, of the Brookfield Glen section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at his home. Born on September 25, 1921 in West Warwick, RI, he was the son of the late Thomas and Sadie Boudreau Moretti. Michael had been a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Wayne, NJ before retiring. He had served in the US Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant in Squadron D, 140th Army Air Force Unit during WWII, receiving several citations and decorations including a Purple Heart, Air Medal, American Theater Ribbon, EAME Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. Mike was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. He was an active member of the Gem Vac Veterans Association, Glen Gardner, NJ. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Joseph. Surviving are his daughter, Lorraine DeNatale and her life partner, Steven Day; his life partner of 39 years, Diane Piermattie; a nephew, Steven; three nieces, Vicki, Pattie and Gloria. A Christian Wake Service will be held 6:30 PM Friday, April 7, 2017 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ. A Gem Vac Veterans prayer will be held at 6:00 PM.
