Obituary of George Martin Kochis

George Martin Kochis, 94, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, PA. He had just enjoyed celebrating his 94th birthday four days prior with his extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to the time of service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Belvidere Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of MacFadden Funeral Home.
One of nine children, George was born in Oxford, NJ to Michael and Elizabeth Kochis on June 30, 1923. George served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He retired from M&M Mars in 1987. George was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a Freemason with Warren Lodge #13, Belvidere. George dedicated his life to the love and care of family and service to his Lord.
George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Florence (Burd) Kochis; four loving daughters, Eileen Slattery and her husband James, Gail Knerr and her husband Harrison, Deborah Kearns and her husband Patrick, and Patricia Demeter and her husband Richard; ten beloved grandchildren; eleven beloved great-grandchildren; his caregiver and honorary daughter, Natalee and honorary granddaughter, Victoria. He is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
