John C. Thatcher, Jr., of Belvidere, NJ passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at St. Luke�,�(TM)s Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ. Born on March 7, 1926, in Belvidere, NJ, he was the son of the late John Calvin and Helen Shay Thatcher. John had been an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union before retiring. He served in the US Navy during WWII and Korean War. He was a life member of American Legion, Post 131 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5193 both in Belvidere, NJ. John enjoyed his garden, flowers and playing BINGO. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Marjorie. Surviving are a son, Mark of Bangor, PA; two daughters, Becky Garner and Amy Thatcher, both of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Uri Thatcher, John Gardner, and Allie Odishelidze; best friends, Bessie Fisher and Dick Crane. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in his memory to the Belvidere Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 128, Belvidere, NJ 07823.
