Obituary of Albert DeCresci

Albert DeCresci, 89, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at St. Luke's Bethlehem Campus and his wife, Betty DeCresci, 86, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at St. Luke's Warren Campus. Born on April 6, 1929 in Newton, NJ, Al was the son of the late Leonard DeCresci and Anna Palma DeCresci. Born on September 20, 1931, in White Township, NJ, Betty was the daughter of the late Leedom Burd and Agnes Kerekes Burd. Albert served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Albert worked for the advertising department of the Easton Express before becoming an insurance agent with State Farm for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Belvidere Ambulance Corp, Belvidere Pool Committee, Belvidere Planning Board and the Belvidere Golf Club. Al served as past president for the Belvidere Cemetery Association and the Belvidere Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling with the James Hardy Sr. Bowling League. Albert was also a member of the local V.F.W Post #5193 and the American Legion Post # 131. Betty was a member of the Belvidere United Methodist Church and an active member of the Methodist Women. Earlier, Betty had worked as a bank teller for the First National Bank of Belvidere. She enjoyed golfing and bowling in her Leisure Ladies Bowling league. Betty and Al enjoyed traveling to Florida every year. In addition to their parents, Albert and Betty are preceded in death by their daughter, Debra Ann Vasko Johnson and Al's brother and sister. Surviving are two grandchildren, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Vasko and Kelley (Brian) Nemeckay; one great-grandchild, Daniel Cade Nemeckay; Al's brother, Mariano DeCresci; Betty's sister, Dorothy Lockard.
