Obituary of Melvin J. Teel

Melvin J. Teel, 94, formerly of Harmony Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Bethlehem Country Meadows, Bethlehem, PA. Born in Bangor, PA on May 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Williard and Bessie Knoll Teel. Melvin had been a pipe fitter for Fisher Scientific Inc., Somerville, NJ before retiring. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the Admiralty Islands. Melvin had also served as a board member for the Belvidere Cemetery Association. Melvin was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Belvidere. He was a life member of the Belvidere American Legion Post # 131, and a Free and Accepted Mason in the Mansfield Lodge #36, Washington, NJ. Melvin was predeceased by his wife Lois A. (Beers) Teel who died on May 9, 2009. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Friedman and her husband David of Mt. Bethel, Pa, and Elaine Taylor of Bethlehem, PA; four grandchildren, Daniel and Deanna Friedman and Kevin and Kyle Taylor. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Belvidere Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2019 with a Masonic Service at 7:30 PM and from 10:00 AM to the time of service on Saturday.
