Obituary of Jean A. Race

Jean A. Race, 88 of White Township, NJ, died on Friday, February 1, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Samuel R. Race, her college sweetheart, to whom she was married for 66 years. Born in Manhattan, NY in 1930, she lived there for nine years before moving to Lyndhurst, NJ. She graduated from Lyndhurst High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Jean received a bachelor's degree in pre-medical sciences from New Jersey College for Women, New Brunswick, NJ. Jean worked as a Senior Claims Examiner with the NJ Dept. of Labor and Industry, was a volunteer assistant with the Warren County Library System, and co-owner with her husband of the Strawberry Hill Farm in which she shared the operation and management of the production and sales of strawberries. Jean was predeceased by a daughter, Amy Tucci who died in 2008. Surviving are her loving husband, Sam; daughter, Carol Gross (John); son, William Race (Ayan); granddaughters, Keri and Lily. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 8, 2019 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment will follow in the Hazen Cemetery, White Township, NJ.
