Mark & I lived in Belvidere from 1973-1978. Adella & B J helped make that the happiest 5 years of our young marriage. They opened their home & their hearts to us. We enjoyed so many fond memories of progressive dinners, competitive games & neighborhood gatherings. These are precious memories we cherish. B J ‘s humor, strong character & unwavering support of family friends will always endure. Rest In Peace dear friend.
I have so many wonderful memories of BJ.
The best being he and Adella opened their home to an 11yr old little girl from Belfast Ireland and give me some of the best summers and experiences of my childhood. Myself and my family will always remember his kindness and generosity. Thoughts and prayers with Adella, Brian, Margie, John and families. Xxx
Adella, I’m so sorry for your loss. You’ll be in my prayers for comfort, peace and strength as you walk this new road.
Just loved how he referred to himself as "Grandpa Dude"! Such a loving father & grandfather.
We are saddened to hear of BJ's passing. We'll miss his great stories and laughter. Condolences to the Wauhop family. RIP dear friend.
We are saddened by the loss of a good friend ; but we have some memories to help us through this time. BJ was the best! We will miss him as part of our annual golf trip.

I will always remember my uncle in the kitchen. Cooking up amazing meals and making the holidays special. He taught me how to make chicken and dumplings and was a great teacher and ensured it was delicious. I remember him Watching his tv while everything simmered and then emerged to join the party to tell a story (usually about how he made my parents get together, thanks for that BJ). He was always the life of the party. He had such interesting hobbies and I would stare at his wall of glorious butterflies that he collected and framed and displayed in a way that made you stare at them for hours. Uncle BJ and aunt Della always made me feel welcome and loved. We were lucky to have him in our family. I will miss you uncle, love you forever.
One of our fondest memories of BJ was when our daughter, Madeline, discovered that Mr. Wauhop had been ejected from his kayak in the rapids of the Delaware River. Here was a man, far from being in his 20's and having recently recovered from hip replacement surgery, cruising down the river. As in life, BJ was up for the new adventure, fearless and willing to take the risk. We will remember BJ fondly every time we kayak down the Delaware. Ken is grateful for their special West Virginia and engineering connection. We are all grateful for BJ's superb example of Christian faith. Rest in peace our friend and condolences to Adella and family. All our love, The Durr Family
