Obituary of Bernard J. Miller

Bernard J. Miller, 95, of Wind Gap, PA formerly of Belvidere, NJ, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Born in Phillipsburg, NJ on April 21, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes Becker Miller. Bernie was a main foreman for the High Grade Beverage Company, Dover, NJ before retiring. He had served in the U.S Army during WWII in the 36th Infantry Division. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, Brodheadsville, PA and St. Patrick R. C. Church, Belvidere, NJ where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. Bernie was a member of Disabled American Veterans, American Ex- P.O.W., American Legion Post 131, Belvidere, NJ, and the National American Legion. In addition to his parents, Bernard was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Ott Miller; a son, David; a sister, Marian Tone. Surviving are four children, Katherine Lorimer of Edgewood, WA, Dennis Miller of Effort, PA, Christopher Miller of Belvidere, NJ, and Theresa Talbot of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Belvidere, NJ. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday at MacFadden Funeral Home 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.
