Obituary of Steven W. Nieuzytek

Steven W. Nieuzytek, 88, of Belvidere, NJ passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020.  He joins his devoted wife Nancy just 23 days after her passing.  Married for over 66 years, they will be together forever in eternity. Steven was a devoted Dad and Pop-Pop. He was the strength of the family and shining example always of love, strength and integrity.

Steven was born in Newark, NJ January 11, 1932 to the late Estelle and Stephen Nieuzytek. Steven and his family lived in Livingston, NJ for 40 years prior to moving to Belvidere 18 years ago.  Steven served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He worked many years at Singer Engineering in Livingston.

Steven loved the ocean and spent many summers at Ortley Beach, NJ.  He loved taking walks on the beach and fishing and crabbing with his children. Since retiring, he loved spending winters in Coco Beach, FL.  He was passionate about boxing and watched every fight he could. He was an aficionado of old movies and spent many hours watching the greats like Marlon Brando and John Wayne.

Steven is survived by his adoring children Susan Gechtman and husband Peter, Kathleen Rice, Scott Nieuzytek and wife Naomi;  precious grandson Michael Rice;  furry granddogs Scout, Nikita, Coco and Bear.  He is also survived by a brother, Henry Nieuzytek and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by son Steven P. Nieuzytek and sister Carol Bruno.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at St. Patrick R.C. Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ. Interment will follow in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, July 24, 2020 at MacFadden Funeral Home, 325 Hardwick Street, Belvidere, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
